In Memory of Zion Patrong
Zion Patrong was an amazing, happy, friendly young man, who died suddenly and tragically on May 28th 2013 at the tender age of 14. During his brief time on earth, his kind, generous, caring, giving, loving, adventurous nature touched the lives of so many people of different backgrounds and cultures, young and old in so many ways.
In honour of his memory, we hosted a 5K walk-a-thon in November 2018. Zion was always giving his time, gifts, talents and resources to anyone and everyone. To honour his selfless example, we walked to raise funds for gifts for children and youth spending the holidays in the Children’s Cancer and Children’s Sickle Cell wards in a local Toronto Hospital.
We appreciate all who donated and came to support!

This great video montage summarized what turned out to be a truly fantastic event. At 1:25, you’ll see Simone Patrong, Zion’s mom finishing the last leg of the walk-a-thon. This is especially significant because Simone suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia Disorder and was just coming out a sickle cell crisis during the walk-a-thon.
