Our 2023 Black History production was entitled Dayshawn’s Dream. This story tells of a unique journey through time the prespectives of black youth today. It highlights aspects of slavery including the transatlantic slave trade, African Kings and Queens, women in hip hop and Caribbean culture.
Even though we had to celebrate Black History Month virtually. These restrictions did not stop us from creating new, awesome content and sharing/performing on our social media platforms.
Through dance, song, poetry, media, and drama, our audience was taken on a unique and uplifting journey through black history and culture.
Well, we’ve done it again. The PowerFIlled Youth TO team presented our newest play entitled “Way Back When” to more than 500 people living in the GTA and had an awesome time doing it.
The 2018 Black History Month production titled “Move with the Music” was brought to life and made AMAZING because of the super-talented youth of PowerfilledYouth T.O!
